Boca and Buck's pups are here!

Thanks to our good friend, Gina Campodonico, for agreeing to help us whelp this litter.  When Boca came into season in July we just knew that her litter timing would be challenging for us work-wise but it was something we really wanted to do so we are thankful she helped us make it happen.

Boca moved to Gina's on Sunday Sept 20th to settle in, and by Wednesday the 23rd was restless and off her food.  On Thursday the 24th she started contractions and Gina phoned Dave to get there STAT!

Pups starting arriving around 11:30 am.  Boca reacted a bit to her contractions ... #frenzied

Here's the final tally (and their James Bond movie-themed names):

  1. "Red" Girl, minimal white, "MoneyPenny"
  2. "Blue" Boy, some white, very tiny, "Odd Job" (RIP 10/10/2015)
  3. "Purple" Girl, blaze, "Electra"
  4. "Green" Boy, minimal white, "Mr. Green"
  5. "Pink" Boy, small blaze, "Q"
  6. "Brown" Girl, minimal white, "Vesper"

"Blue" boy is very tiny and is getting supplemental feedings.  We are all rooting for him!
UPDATE:  Sadly we had to let OddJob go on Oct 10.  See post from that date.

Boca is pregnant!

We took Boca in to Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center today for her ultrasound with Dr Cain and Boca is definitely pregnant!  There are maybe 7-8 pups in there, and all looked good according to the doc.  Due date is September 25, 2015.

The sire is Jody Faulkner's Buck - you can learn more about him on the page we've set up on this site

We have had a LOT of interest in this litter and a wait list is being formed.  Picks will be confirmed when the pups are 6 - 8 weeks (possibly sooner) to verify that we have the best pup/home matches possible.  We will be posting a questionnaire for those interested in being added to the wait list.  Updates will be posted on this site.

Bay Team 4th of July 2015

We had a great time in Prunedale!  The cool, foggy mornings and evenings are a pleasure at this time of year.

The dogs ran great!  Our Team day started out a bit rocky but we rallied while others struggled with the Relay course and ended up taking 3rd overall - Podium!  And on a boat!

Thanks to Ivette White for the photo!  (L to R:  Carol & Deenie, Dave & Boca, Erika & Cadence)

On the non-team days, Boca won Biathlon, Trek got 4 Qs towards his LAA (but alas no Gamblers legs) and Cadence earned 9 Qs amid some much-needed startline schooling.  She now just needs 2 Gamblers Qs for her ADCH-Silver.

Unfortunately our friend Liza was injured so we got to try running her dogs for her.  Erika and Taiko went 2/3, winning P3 Relay and taking 3rd in P3 Gamblers.  Dave and Monty had some great runs including 2nd in Steeplechase Rd 2, but not so much in the Q department as Dave learned to adjust to Monty's stride.

We also took some time out for family photos since Boca's brother and parents were all at the trial.
